I want to thank for letting me use her likeness for this image when I started out it was going to be a new Babs piece to add to my book (again wanting to get rid of anything that was 'after') and right before I started to ink a dear friend of mine had posted on FB her annoyance at a LACK of Steph Brown art at shows lately especially her Batgirl.
Well... apparently me saying 'so I should do a Steph?' was the best option as she was the only Hero Piece that was uber popular at the show people kept commenting on her and I sold two prints so WOO!!!
I tried something new with her hair for this one as I wanted to have it be slightly more realistic I didn't do the black outline I have done in the past and went with all sepia.
Damn proud of how this came out and how QUICKLY it was done. I did change some expression/features from Knightness' photo to make it less Babs as well but she is amazing and THANK YOU SO MUCH for letting me raid your cosplay gallery! I was even more impressed that my Catwoman model saw the pencils and said that is looked just like [you]. So I'm happy with it. Thank you again!
If you want to see the original image as promised [link]
Done on Heavenly White #80 Card Stock with BIC Mechanical Pencil, Faber Castell Dust Free Vinyl Eraser with Copic SP Multi-Liners (Black) and Copic Multi-Liners (Sepia) used as inks and Copic Sketches for Color.
My apologies that my scanner is slowly dying and adds that weird stripe.
She REALLY is!!!! I can't wait to work on the Babs piece based off of her I started already but I have commissions to fill before I can work on fun things
Before she became Batgirl - she was called Spoiler I believe. I can see having references really adds to the overall artwork because this looks awesome.
Ah well maybe you could have a scanner as a present for the holidays.
*SNORT* yeah there is like 100 other things on my 'way more important' list than a new scanner... like a comfortable place to work either a drafting table or a new couch. but thank you!
yes... of course many other things would be more important than a scanner replacement. a good workplace for the artwork would be a highly significant one for you I'm certain.
