Not so Happily Ever After

"What!?!? a GORE piece?!" Yeah I know I usually do "pretty" not horror but this was a requested piece by a long time customer of mine so I just had to do it. I started with the generic we all know it Disney Princess Group Pose that I think is on about six different books in my apartment somewhere. I then took my copy of Grey's Anatomy and God bless my girlfriend who is in a medical program at school because thanks to her I was saving a lot of time not having to look up various systems and bones and things. Also thanks to Caitlin who suggested I ugly Aurora up a bit (she had a missing eye already) by having the eye dangle like it is.

So basically I drew them totally normal... and then just tore them apart it took about 5 different rounds of pencils when it usually only takes 2. The inks nearly killed me, with my wrist injury all the little detail just made it worse. But when it came to colouring? This piece seriously made me a better artist. My friend Robert who is sort of a horror guru told me to let all the rules out the window when doing Zombie flesh- use greens, purples, blues, greys and mix them THEN add your earth tones. Because of that ever since every piece I have done has gotten better even the "pretty" pieces. So thank you Rob!
